Energy company E.ON has announced it has reached an agreement with developer Miller Birch for a new building in Nottingham city centre to accommodate a relocation of staff currently based at Newland House.
E.ON, one of Nottinghamshire's largest employers, has agreed to take a lease on a 105,000 sq ft nine-storey building at the Guildhall site on the corner of Burton and North Church streets, with construction due to be completed in early 2012.
David Bird, Customer Service Director for E.ON's Retail Business, said: "Following a pretty lengthy search, we're delighted to have secured a suitable location for our Nottingham city centre teams.
"Subject to planning approval, the building will be fitted out and ready for us to move into by June 2012, when our lease at Newland House expires.
"We have incorporated sustainable design principles, energy efficiency and green technologies to provide a first-class workplace for our staff to continue our commitment to providing a high level of customer service."
A planning application is being lodged with Nottingham City Council.
