Shepherds Bush Housing Group Win Housing Heroes Award

A London based housing organisation, Shepherds Bush Housing Group (SBHG), has won a prestigious prize at the UK Housing Heroes Awards in London.

The awards were established in 2009 to recognise and celebrate the achievements of the many unsung heroes working in the housing sector.

The Group collected the Human Resources Team of the Year award for an impressive range of achievements since the team was established in 2006. Their innovative recruitment strategies and their general approach to marketing Shepherds Bush as an employer resulted in:

• The registration of nearly 2,000 volunteers and potential employees
• Over 14,000 hours of volunteering which help to provide services to almost 950 families
• Employment for 86 people with SBHG and other organisations
• Recognition of their strategy at the Chartered Institute of Marketing Excellence Awards 2010

The team of five collected their award at the Hilton Hotel from BBC TV personality Ben Fogle. In total, awards were presented in 15 different categories in an event organised jointly by the Chartered Institute of Housing and Inside Housing magazine.
