General wellbeing has become more important to the British public at large, and this has resulted in an increase in membership to gymnasia.
Some people are taking the extra step of creating a gymnasium within their own properties, and the basement is the ideal spot for this.
Delta Membrane Systems is now offering a range of products that will convert a dark, dingy and damp basement into a warm, dry inviting extra space in a house, which could easily be used as a gymnasium.
The product range includes MS-500 – a cavity drainage membrane for use on walls and floors as a waterproofing system.
The 0.6mm high density polyethylene sheet features 8mm deep studs which allow effective drainage of moisture from behind the wall finish, or under the floor covering.
Available in a clear option, it gives a compressive strength of greater than 250kN/m2, and is able to drain some 135 litres/min. of water per m run.
The Delta product line-up also includes Delta MS-20, which has been designed specifically for flooring applications, to protect against dampness and contamination. Traditional damp proof membranes trap moisture and hold up work while the relative humidity of the concrete takes time to drop. Delta MS-20 allows work to continue immediately after placement thanks to its special stud profile.
One of the applications that benefits from Delta MS-20 is in the installation of underfloor heating, which is becoming an increasingly popular option for the householder.
Sumps and pumps are also available from Delta Membrane Systems, making this company the 'one stop shop' for everything to do with basement refurbishment.
