Having successfully operated in the UK for some time, Water Network Solutions took the decision last year to launch Solutions de Réseau d’Eau, a sister company in France.
The UK market has seen an increase in the use of water leak detection companies in recent times, both by homeowners and commercial clients.
The value of pinpointing leaks using sophisticated technology and reducing the amount of disruption caused by other investigative processes has long been appreciated here. However, as one would expect, the European market is somewhat different.
The decision to launch a company in France was initiated by the director's personal wish to relocate to France and the desire to replicate overseas the success achieved in Britain. As a result, Solutions de Réseau d’Eau was born.
The French company is run along similar lines to the British one with the Managing Director, Mark Dobson, personally undertaking much of the investigative work. French clients already include householders, holiday parks, industrial units and municipal sites across the length and breadth of the country.
However, the primary area for marketing activity centres on the Savoy region, where the owner is based. Living and working in a different cultural environment and facing the challenges of driving in winter in alpine regions have been a valuable experience for Mr. Dobson.
Equally, it has afforded him the opportunity of learning first-hand the different approach to construction and plumbing in another European state.
Having leak detection companies in both countries enables British people who have second homes in France, or indeed who have moved permanently to the area to be able to call on an experienced, qualified British engineer for an explanation of their problem.
In addition, survey reports can be provided in both English and French, which is invaluable for dealing with French insurance companies, at the same time providing a clear, understandable explanation for the British client. Of course, the same can be achieved for French clients in the UK.
However, Solutions de Réseau d’Eau does not simply rely on British clients, but is actively promoting partnerships with French companies and providing services to both commercial domestic French customers.
