Sisk Scoops £13.8m Co-Op Distribution Project
Sisk has won a £13.8 million project to fit out a new distribution warehouse and office facility for Co-Op (part of the Co-operative Group) in Newhouse, near Motherwell, Scotland.
Owing to a programme of network development, the Co-Op Food Supply Chain Logistics has built a new 503,000ft2 composite warehouse to handle distribution to serve their Scotland region. Sisk will fully fit out this development over a 20 week programme, project managed by Goodrich Projects.
Chris Dyer, Director of Sisk commented: "This contract win is great news for Sisk and for our new Glasgow regional office. We opened the new office recognising that clients like the Co-Operative Group seek our skills and expertise throughout the UK, but at a local level. We look forward to working with our partners to present a high quality finish to this project."
Sisk's fit out work will include mechanical and electrical services, frozen and chilled refrigeration, internal racking and sprinkler system. The supporting office areas will also be fitted by Sisk to a high standard. Externally, the work will include a vehicle maintenance, wash and refuelling bay.
The Co-Op selected Sisk for the full fit out of its national distribution centre last year in Stoke-on-Trent. The Meir Park facility now supports the Pharmacy's network of 800 outlets.
Tim Ellis, Project Manager, Co-Operative Group Supply Chain, added: "Serving our entire Scotland region, we need reassurance that the installation will be delivered 100 per cent right first time. Sisk has worked on intricate and complex fit outs with the Co-Operative Group before and we are satisfied their project management skills and expertise are the best for the task ahead."
