The new contract goes live in October following a mobilisation period and will see Willmott Dixon Partnerships responsible for the upkeep of homes, garages, communal areas, community centre and boiler houses.

The scope of the contract covers repairs, voids, capital works, gas and electrical, plus aids and adaptations, with an option to extend the initial five and a half years by a further four, based on performance. The company will also transfer in 170 employees currently with the council.

Willmott Dixon Partnerships managing director Mick Williamson said: "We are delighted to be given this opportunity to work with 2010 Rotherham in delivering a first-class service to residents over the coming years.

"Our aim will be to work closely with 2010 Rotherham and other stakeholders to develop and deliver a three star excellent service as we have achieved with other clients, including in South Yorkshire."
