Leyland's Colour Credentials Graduate With A First

Leading trade paint brand Leyland has made a typically bold appearance at one of University of London's most prestigious exhibitions, Bartfest 2010.

The week-long exhibition is held in the Slade School of Fine Art and celebrates students' work from the Bartlett School of Architecture, UCL.

'BSc Unit 9', which contained Moscow-themed architectural designs collaborated by 12 undergraduate students, required splashes of colour which would bring the atmospheric exhibition space to life and after being impressed by Leyland's eye-catching website and inspiring range of colours they knew there was only one place to turn to make their vision into a reality. Leyland helped transform the display unit, which housed the students' work, with imaginative colours, including Mint Gel, Ballet Pink and Signal Red, from its vast range.

Staff at the Johnstone's Leyland Decorating Centre in Hanover donated enough Leyland Acrylic Eggshell paint to bring the bespoke features sparkling to life and ensure the stand was the talk of the exhibition.

Design tutors Max Dewdney and Chee-Kit Lai and their 12 undergraduate students were responsible for the design of the stand, and Max said: "Bartfest 2010 was a huge success, with our particular unit gaining an immensely positive response. One of the major reasons behind this was down to the stunning colour options provided by Leyland, which ensured our stand stood out. Visitors were quick to point out how they thought the vibrant colour of the paint complemented the moody tone of the grey and brought out the best in the students' models, images and designs, as well as perfectly complementing the exhibition space."

Leyland Brand Manager Nicki Hickman added: "It's absolutely fantastic to see Leyland products being used on such a wide variety of projects, such as this. Colour is what sets Leyland apart from the rest and we're delighted when our colour options are used in such creative and eye-catching ways…long may it continue!"

Leyland has just launched a brand new colour card packed with an array of new features designed to make life easier than ever before for its customers. The new card comes bursting onto the market with a further 43 new colours, which have been introduced to meet existing and future trends, and include the imaginatively named Jake’s Place, Toffee Swirl and Sumptuous Red.

The new colour card is now available and can be requested or downloaded at www.leylandtrade.com
