If you want a good return, invest in the right materials.
Thousands of pounds are lost repairing, replacing and maintaining property. Investing money in a house is, for most people, the most important financial decision they will make in their lifetime. Make sure you consider the whole life costs of your investment.
Twenty years ago Andrew and Helen Schofield, directors of RoofBLOCK Ltd decided to build their own home, their most important requirement was low-maintenance and high energy efficiency. Reducing the heating requirement was easily solved by using extra insulation, however to meet the maintenance-free brief they found that there was no long-term solutions to continually repainting wooden fascia and soffits or replacing rotten roof support timbers behind wooden or faded plastic boards.
Undeterred Andrew, a Civil Engineer, devised a longer-lasting roof overhang which solved this age-old problem. The one-piece fascia and soffit block caused so much interest that he decided to go into business and marketed it as RoofBLOCK. Over the years the system has been modified and perfected to provide a simpler system than the current costly methods.
In the early years confidence in RoofBLOCK was boosted by winning the prestigious Chartered Institute of Building International Award for Innovation, the judge's citation stated: "RoofBLOCK is a significant building innovation that provides a solution to a long standing problem. It is well engineered and constructed from traditional material with the potential for high lifecycle performance." Many more environmental awards followed.
RoofBLOCK is now used all over Ireland and in recent years manufacturing was moved to a state-of-the art new factory in England, guaranteeing continuity of supply and an extended colour range in a high quality reconstructed stone finish. We are commitment to addressing environmental issues by complying with the Code for Sustainable Homes for the responsible supply of materials with ISO 14001 certification.
Ever rising costs and the sudden downturn in the economy means the Schofield’s decision to eliminate the unnecessary burden of maintenance has paid off.
The RoofBLOCK system is a cost effective solution, designed to suit all wall and roof construction. The company welcomes enquiries and can supply FREE estimates from your plans by email or post:
