The decking material used was Brazilian Walnut which has Natural durability, superior performance and incredible beauty.
Ipe is an extremely dense tropical hardwood with excellent durability and performance characteristics.
Limited by the design brief to replace the existing deck to compliment this 70's period property with the finest of decking materials was a great challenge for Exterior Decking.
From an initial onsite visit to ascertain the exact requirements, to presenting samples to provide the look and feel the clients were looking for, was the first step. The materials delivered by Exterpark direct from Barcelona to site in Villafranche in Nice on time and exactly as ordered.
Each deck board was 4 metres in length and 45mm thick, the weight of these were incredible. Sore shoulders were the order of the day as we clambered down the side of 4 stories of hillside stony staircase with one of these on our shoulders, all 2 tonnes of it!
Each board had been meticulously profiled by Exterpark to provide a perfectly fitted invisible fixed decking system, not a single screw in site. This provided the client with a luxurious look and feel of an interior wooden floor except for outside.
The project was finished over four days and handed over to the client’s gardener to complete the transformation of the soft landscaping.
We look forward to our next travels to the Cote d'zur, Villafranche in the South of France to provide an Exterior Decking project...
