Mansell Scoops £6.4m Housing Project In Southampton
Mansell has won a £6.4 million project to create 60 affordable flats in Southampton for Thorner's Homes.
The contract involves demolition of the majority of the existing properties and traditional construction of 56 new build affordable flats. The listed Bell Tower building will be converted to create a further four affordable flats.
Mansell has also purchased land from Thorner's Homes to build 15 family homes and three flats for open market sale.
The railings, gates with piers and monument are also listed and will be retained. The stone monument is to be dismantled, stored and relocated within the grounds once the new building has been completed.
Work is due to start on site this month and complete in March 2014.
