GQA Qualifications Actively Supporting The Art And Craft Of Stained Glass
GQA Qualifications has on many occasions supported, via sponsorship or prizes, activities across its glass and related sphere of influence; including Proskills Apprenticeship Awards, the Master Fitter Competition, the Schools Technology Challenge, etc.
GQA is pleased to be associated in 2011 with the Glaziers Trust, the Glaziers Company and The Brian Thomas Memorial prize.
Currently GQA is sponsoring in 2011, in association with The Glaziers Trust and Worldskills UK, the first prize of the prestigious Stevens Competition. The name of the first prize is "The Brian Thomas Memorial Prize" supplemented on this occasion by "Sponsored by GQA Qualifications".
Brian Thomas was a very distinguished stained glass artist of the mid-20th Century whose work can be seen in St Pauls Cathedral among many other important buildings. He was Master of the Glaziers Company in 1976.
