Icynene Set To Expand And Is looking For New Installers

Construction News Image
Icynene, one of the pioneers of the Green Building Movement in North America and inventor of water blown soft foam insulation, is looking for new installers to help expand its UK business.

Icynene, which holds a BBA Certificate, was founded in Canada in 1986. It is the largest supplier of soft foam insulation and air barrier material in North America and has participated in over 300,000 healthy, environmentally-friendly and energy efficient building projects. Icynene currently operates throughout the Europe, North America and the Middle and Far East.

"Soft foam is the fastest growing insulation material in the world today and we are now looking for new installers across the UK," said Icynene's UK representative Simon Falkner-Lee. "We are particularly looking for people with experience in the construction industry and a good working knowledge of insulation. Suitable installers will be self employed but supported by Icynene with training, marketing and technical support."

Icynene's spray-in-place, expanding soft foam insulation and air barrier system is 100% water-blown and contains no harmful emissions. Applied as a liquid, Icynene expands to 100 times its volume in seconds to fill every crack and crevice while remaining flexible so that the integrity of the building envelope seal remains intact over time.

"As proven technology, Icynene delivers multiple benefits including superior thermal performance with up to 50 percent in energy savings, healthier indoor air by reducing condensation-related mould and mildew and reduced sound transmission," explained Simon Falkner-Lee. "It can be used in residential, commercial, and industrial applications involving all types of construction materials and offers significant increases in energy efficiency, increasing air tightness and reducing CO2 emissions."

"Icynene is also popular as it can easily insulate complicated designs and has a proven track record of solving problems of cold floors and condensation. As an air barrier, Icynene will help meet or exceed the air tightness performance standards set out by the Code for Sustainable Homes," added Mr Falkner-Lee.
