Costain Awarded A465 Heads Of The Valleys Contract
Costain, one of the UK's leading construction and engineering solutions providers, is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a contract worth £150m by the Welsh Government to construct the A465 Heads of the Valleys road in South Wales.
Costain, in partnership with Atkins, Halcrow and RPS Group, will design and construct an 8km section between Brynmawr and Gilwern. The project will present significant engineering and environmental challenges as the road passes through a number of sites of special scientific interest including the Clydach Gorge within the Brecon Beacons National Park.
Commenting on the contract award, Andrew Wyllie, Chief Executive of Costain, said: "We are delighted to have been awarded this contract and are committed to deliver a high quality, safe and cost effective scheme for the Welsh Government and the local community. This award demonstrates the strength of our position as one of the UK's leading solution providers in the Highways sector."
