Newcastle-upon-Tyne based interior designers Space ID are regular users of stone cladding from Fernhill Stone having used them on several projects since their establishment some four years ago.
"We do everything from concept development to construction, a full turnkey service," said Marc Hardy, Director, Space ID.
"We mainly specialised in the licensed trade up until recently but have now diversified into the full range of commercial work and large format residential. We first came across Fernhill Stone in our previous company where we were the creative directors and found the company excellent. We have been using their products ever since."
Among the projects for which Space ID has used the Fernhill Stone range is the Rock Bar in Leeds. "This is a very well known style bar operated by an Ibizan promoter, an ex Leeds United footballer Dominic Matteo and a local businessman who wanted to bring the look and feel of an Ibizan bar to the city. We had a desire to mimic the natural landscape and ethos of Ibiza using natural textures. The finishes of the Fernhill Stone cladding products allowed us to achieve that."
Another project was the Kiremko showroom in Peterborough. "They are a leading supplier of fry ranges to the fish and chip shop sector. A lot of fish and chip shop owners are bringing in more design to top of the range shops and Kiremko asked us to help them revolutionise design in the area. We used stone cladding by Fernhill Stone as part of the back wall in the showroom and it works very well. The natural stone look is very flavoursome at the moment; even McDonald's are going green."
Marc sees cost efficiency as being a major selling point for Fernhill Stone products. "Budgets are very tight and our clients want something that is impactful and makes a good statement but is also cost effective. Stone cladding from Fernhill Stone deliver all of that and the products are very easy to use on site. We have recommended Fernhill Stone to others and continue to use them in our own projects."
