Two landmark London buildings have taken pre-emptive steps to safeguard their floors during planned renovation work this summer.
Both the Victoria and Albert Museum and the Royal College of Art have purchased red multi use floor protection film from specialist flooring protection firm, Trio Plus.
Described as the best art and design museum on the planet, the Victoria and Albert museum collections are housed in a building dating back to 1855. Playing host to iconic pieces from the worlds of fashion, photography, sculpture, ceramics and more, the V and A building is a capital hub for style and culture. Protecting its 156 year old floors during building work is of historical importance. The question of how to avoid damage from heavy foot traffic, paint, liquid spills and builder’s mess was solved with the acquisition of several rolls of red multi use protection film from temporary floor protection experts Trio Plus.
Nurturing talent and creating future masterpieces that may one day reside in the Victoria and Albert Museum, the Royal College of Art is the most launched postgraduate art and design school in the world. Located close to the V and A building in Kensington, the Royal College of Art is a focal point for the creative industries. Recognising that the gallery floors would need to be protected from paint splashes, dust and other mess during repainting, the College purchased 1200 m2 of multi use protection film.
Designed by Surrey-based Trio Plus, the multi use protection film being used in both locations is a practical polyethylene film provided in a roll form. Suitable for use on windows, mirrors, cabinets, hardware, appliances and countertops as well as tile floors, factory finished hardwood, metal and high-gloss surfaces the film is cushioned and non-slip, making it safe for use in high-traffic areas.
As with all Trio Plus carpet protection and hard floor protection products, the red multi use film can be left on site for 45 days. The eco-friendly self-adhesive backing means there’s no residue or marks left behind when the film is removed.
