Shropshire County PCT has now finished assessing proposals put forward by six potential development partners to enter into a Framework Agreement with the PCT for the establishment of a new healthcare facility for South West Shropshire.
From the six proposals, three potential partners have been selected.
The Framework Agreement means, in essence, that the local NHS and the development's Project Team will work with the three shortlisted Framework Agreement partners to develop their proposals in much more detail. The local NHS will then look to award the contract to one of the three Framework Partners (the preferred partner) in the autumn of 2011. It is then envisaged that building work will commence on the new healthcare facility on the Ludlow Eco Business Park in the summer of 2012.
Ryhurst was one of three partners selected from six bidders. All six bidders went through a stringent process of evaluation and review in order to make sure they not only provided the best options for the local NHS in terms of value for money and efficiency, but that they represent the best options for the project and the people of South West Shropshire.
Stuart Rees, Project Director at Shropshire County PCT commented: "This is a really important step for the PCT. We have been through a very thorough and demanding process of evaluating the bids that we received, and we are confident that we have selected the best three businesses to enter into a Framework Agreement with.
"There is still a lot of work to do between now and the end of the year when we hope to appoint a preferred partner out of the three shortlisted Framework partners. From now until the stage of final appointment we will work to make sure that local people get the best possible healthcare facility for the area."
