Subscriptions To PQQ Service Increases
Constructionline has announced that its supplier database has grown 10 per cent in the last year.
The figures show that over 2,000 new contractors have joined the service in the past 12 months as increasing numbers of businesses look to streamline their procurement practices.
The number of clients – such as local authorities, housing associations and major contractors – registered with the site has also increased by six per cent over the same period.
The amount of suppliers subscribed to the service has recently tipped 21,500 and the number of individual buying organisations has grown to over 2,400.
The announcement comes as the Office of National Statistics (ONS) revealed that construction output in the second quarter of 2011 grew by 0.5 per cent.
Philip Prince, a Director from Constructionline, said: "Although the work levels in the industry are some way from their pre-recession peak there are signs that the amount of contracts available is increasing.
"Our report demonstrates that an increasing number of suppliers are signing up to procurement systems like ours to give them greater exposure to buyers looking for financially secure and suitable contractors."
