Willmott Dixon Wins Airdale P21+ Project
Willmott Dixon has secured its sixth ProCure 21+ project in four months after being chosen by Airedale NHS Foundation Trust (ANHSFT) near Keighley, West Yorkshire, for a contract worth £15 million.
Over the next five years, it will see Willmott Dixon work closely with ANHSFT's estates team to carry out planned improvements to Airedale General Hospital in a number of areas.
The scope of work ranges from a new endoscopy unit to refurbishing the hospital’s Accident and Emergency department. All projects will utilise Willmott Dixon's unique 'Insitu Plan' that ensures patients and staff are not disrupted by the building work, an important element given that sites remain open to the public.
Working alongside Willmott Dixon will be its ProCure 21+ team, who are Capita Symonds, providing architectural, M&E and structural services, plus Cyril Sweett as cost advisor.
ProCure 21+ is a framework provided by the Department of Health for the procurement of new and refurbished NHS facilities. Although not compulsory, ProCure 21+ has become the most popular route for NHS capital projects.
Anthony Dillon, Managing Director for Willmott Dixon in the North said: "We are very pleased to have been awarded this long-term contract to improve facilities and deliver a hospital that’s fit for the future needs of its local communities."
