Putney & Wood Scoop £1.2m Stone Contract

Putney & Wood the highly respected London Stone Masons have been awarded the £1.2 million stone contract for 12-15 Finsbury Circus in the heart of the City of London's financial district.

Putney & Wood have been appointed to design, supply and install the new Portland stone cladding work for the new development and the cleaning and restoration of the existing stone façade. In the reception they are creating a feature carved wall and laying limestone flooring in the reception and lift lobbies on all floors.

The current façade at 12-15 Finsbury Circus was constructed in 1991; the building is being re-developed from 11,520 m² of office space into 20,000 m² by adding an additional floor and re-designing the building layout. Finsbury Circus has history dating back to the 14th Century and many listed buildings and architectural features from Edwin Lutyens and Francis Derwent Wood. The site is pivotal in the Cross Rail development which is due for completion 2016.

Putney & Wood are due to start onsite March 2012 with project due to complete by the end of the year.

The Waterman Group have appointed Skanska as the main contractor and Fletcher Priest as architect.
