BluWood NexGen Advanced Limited Achieves ISO 14001 Certification
BluWood NexGen Advanced has launched in Europe at TimberExpo, the new international event and showcase held in Coventry.
The company has been seeking independent international verification for both the product and the company’s outlook and processes and the most recognition comes from the International Organisation of Standardisation (ISO) via Quality Management Systems (QMS) in the form of ISO 14001 Certification.
Although BluWood NexGen Advanced is new to the European market, it is well established in Canada as a superior treatment for timber offering a new standard in resistance to fire, moisture, mould and mildew, UV and wood-boring insects. It is quick and easy to apply through spraying or brushing and has excellent environmental credentials being eco-friendly, water-based and having no fumes. Complimenting the ISO9001 certification recently received, the ISO 14001 means that international clients can be totally assured as to the environmental systems management used by the company at all times in respect of the supply and handling of the timber treatment.
Steve Browne, CEO of BluWood NexGen Advanced Limited said of the achievement: “As a business that sells a sustainable product to the industry, we were always going to be under scrutiny from external experts to ensure that we not only delivered a green product but that our processes were also good for the environment. Achieving ISO14001 shows we practice what we preach.
“BluWood NexGen Advanced is a massive leap forward in the treatment of timber. Most especially in setting an entirely new standard in fire resistance which will redefine how timber can be used in construction, but it is also water-based with no fumes, requires only cold spraying or brushing applications without pressurised infusion or post kiln drying giving it very impressive environmental credentials in both formulation and application.”
