Contour Column Casings - The Smart Choice For Aston Business School
As part of the significant expansion of Aston Business School in Birmingham, market leading column casings manufacturer Contour Casings Ltd, has supplied and installed a range of its preformed plywood column encasement systems as part of the £22 Million pound development.
A range of aesthetically-pleasing column casing solutions was sought to cover up the problem of unsightly exposed building structures in internal and external locations and in a selection of sizes. Contour's in-house design team conducted a free-of-charge site survey before consulting with the client and specifying a range of hardwood and softwood column casings, in a striking white finish and which would enhance the already strong visual design of the building.
Contour's preformed plywood column encasement systems were selected for their robust and pre-finished design, facilitating an efficient and cost-effective installation. Preformed plywood column casings require minimal lifetime maintenance, even when located in high-traffic areas.
Contour Casings' plywood column casings range was flexible enough to encompass all sizes and shapes required for this project, as well as being consistent in quality of finish and appearance, a key criterion for this major development. Column casings up to 6m in height were supplied; these were constructed from sections joined together by a black feature collar.
Consistently ranking highly with the Financial Times and the Economist, Aston Business School is included in only 1% of business schools worldwide with triple accreditation, with a wealth of world-leading research being produced by the school every year.
Leigh Simpson, Managing Director at Contour Casings, said: "We are delighted to be involved with such a significant development and with such a forward-thinking organisation. The flexibility of our column casings range, coupled with the experience and expertise we have built up over many years, allows us to deliver high-quality and cost-effective column encasement solutions, on time and on budget."
