Hundreds Of Homes To Be Delivered In £9m Deal
Nearly 400 new affordable homes will be delivered across the South of England as part of a four year agreement between the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) and Source Development Partnership.
The HCA has agreed a contract with Source Development Partnership, which will see it deliver a total of 300 homes across the South West, Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.
This programme is supported by investment of £9m from the HCA. It is part of the HCA’s Affordable Homes Programme, which is set to deliver 80,000 new affordable homes across England by 2015.
HCA executive director for the South and South West Colin Molton said: "This agreement is great news as it will see much needed new homes delivered in the south and make a significant difference to the local communities in which we work.
"Our local teams have worked closely with Source Development Partnership over recent months to ensure that its programme brings the maximum benefit for local people. But in many ways, the hard work starts now - and we will be focused on ensuring that people in the south see the benefits of our investment over the next four years."
Jitinder Takhar, Group Director of Development at Spectrum said: "We're really pleased that Source has been chosen as one of the HCA's partners to deliver new homes over the next four years. These are challenging times and Source will be working hard to find new and innovative ways for developing homes for those in need by sharing our expertise and working together as a partnership of equals. We see our relationship with our key Local Authorities and housebuilders growing from strength to strength, which in itself has many positive outcomes particularly in sustaining communities and helping with employment opportunities."
