Household Automation And Comfort Security Release Glass Frame Keypad

Construction News Image
Household Automation has been involved with the Comfort security alarm and home control from Cytech for many years.

The product is primarily a reliable approved security system, but it provides more than just security, in fact Comfort provides so much functionality that it's hard to know where to start.

Firstly it is worth while mentioning the new KP06 keypad, this can be mounted portrait or landscape and is available with a choice of surrounds to match other devices such as power sockets, heating controls and light switches. The Comfort keypad is pictured within a pleasing tinted glass frame but could just as well be in an aluminium, stainless steel or brass frame.

Comfort has built into it as part of the standard product a telephone dial out facility. This alone provides more features than many other systems, so for example: Comfort can be set up to dial out (or conversely the customer can dial in) to up to eight telephone numbers of the customer's choice. The dial out can occur for example: when there is a security alert: when there is a power cut: if someone rings the front door bell. You could also set it up to open the gates or garage door.

Comfort also includes a range of door bells and door phones with a choice of materials and a camera option.

Comfort has Ethernet access and it naturally follows on that there is an iPhone app. Programming is achieved via the Comfigurator software a program that is reliable, free issue and easy to use.

The system its self it truly flexible with up to 64 inputs and 64 outputs and interfaces to every major integrator - Z wave: KNX: Clipsal CBUS: Dynalite: Velbus: RS232 or 485: Crestron: AMX to name but a few. A majority of these interfaces are two way and will allow interrogation of the other protocol, thus for example when connecting to a KNX system you could program comfort without having to access the KNX program.

The Comfort range is ideal as a hub for controlling and interfacing multiple devices, so it may be that your home has CBUS lighting but KNX heating with a Comfort home control panel as the interface.

The whole point of comfort is that is has unrivalled interconnection at the most cost effective prices.

Household Automation currently has projects with Comfort that interface to Centralite, KNX, Rako and CBUS.
