Contour Transform Art Deco Cinema

Manchester developer, Kempsten Ltd, has transformed a run-down former art deco cinema site into major commercial premises, with numerous Contour casings products specified for the project and forming an integral part of the external aesthetics of the building.

Major hotel chain Travelodge has moved into the premises, located on the main high street in the historic City of Lancaster, and features a large number of circular GRP and square Aluminium column casings from the extensive range offered by market leading manufacturer Contour Casings Ltd.

Contour also manufactured a large amount of its innovative Aluminium wall capping for this significant development, this product combines a highly-professional finish with complete waterproofing capabilities.

The in-house design team at Contour conducted a free-of-charge site survey and identified Aluminium and GRP column casings as the durable and cost-effective solution to the problem of exposed building structures on the six storey development. Square column sections were fabricated with a curved end detail to follow the profile of the building.
