Earth Moves As Multi-Million Pound Project Commences

Construction of a galvanizing firm's brand new £5.5 million plant commenced earlier this month and was marked by an official 'turning of the sod' ceremony at the site in Witham, Essex.

South East Galvanizers, part of Wedge Group Galvanizing, welcomed staff and contractors to celebrate the occasion which was led by Chairman and CEO of Wedge Group Galvanizing, Jeremy Woolridge, Eastern Regional Director Steve Milnes and South East Galvanizers' General Manager David Knight.

The firm, which is based at Western Industrial Estate in Witham, employs 64 people and has been on the current site for over fifty years. It will continue to be fully operational until completion of the new facility on the same site next year.

Building contractor R G Carter has been appointed to undertake the construction of the new facility for South East Galvanizers.
