Breedon Aggregates Acquires Nottingham Readymix
Breedon Aggregates Limited, one of the UK's largest independent aggregates business, is entering the Nottingham ready-mixed concrete market with the acquisition today of Nottingham Readymix.
The acquisition fills an important gap in Breedon Aggregates’ coverage of the East Midlands, located midway between its plants at Cloud Hill to the south-west and Grantham to the east.
Nottingham is a key centre of economic activity in the region, with a number of major infrastructure and commercial projects currently underway or in the pipeline, including the £600 million tram project due to start in 2012.
Commenting on the acquisition Simon Vivian, Breedon Aggregates' Group Chief Executive, said: "This is a great business with deep roots in the Nottinghamshire community and we are proud to welcome it as the newest member of the Breedon Aggregates group.
"Our success at Breedon Aggregates has been built on giving our customers an outstanding service, delivered locally, promptly and to the highest possible quality. Nottingham Readymix has exactly the same ethos. From a practical point of view, nothing will change following this acquisition. The business will continue to trade as Nottingham Readymix and its senior management team will continue to run the business day-to-day, providing the same level of excellent service."
