Entry for the National Federation of Builders (NFB) first annual awards scheme to celebrate the high quality work and commitment delivered by members to improve the built environment has now closed.
The standard of entries received is of an extremely high standard, reflecting the excitement amongst members for the awards scheme. The awards not only reflect the quality of work members carry out but also the dynamic nature of the construction industry and provide a unique opportunity for members to showcase and be recognised for their work.
Commenting on the scheme, NFB Chief Executive, Julia Evans said: "We are delighted to offer NFB members the chance to be recognised for the contributions they make to the UK construction industry.
"Whilst steeped in history, today the NFB is a modern, proactive organisation and our annual awards provide a further reassurance of the quality offered by our members.”
Brian Adams, Chief Executive of CSCS, main sponsor for the 2012 scheme said: "As the preeminent competence card scheme for construction, CSCS is proud to be sponsoring the first annual awards to recognise and celebrate the major contribution that NFB members make to the industry."
An expert panel of adjudicators will come together to assess entries with a shortlist being announced by Friday 27 April 2012. The panel is made up of Julia Evans, NFB Chief Executive; Gordon Jenkins, Director of Operations, CSCS; Brian Griffiths, B&CE Chief Executive; Roger Humber, Strategic Policy Adviser for the House Builders Association; Neal Stone, Director of Communication and Policy, British Safety Council; Vassos Chrysostomou, Improvement Councillor for the Built Environment and John Sayers, Director and Monitor, Considerate Constructors Scheme.
