Rewarding Week For Homebase
It's been a rewarding week for Homebase as the company ran out winners at the Retail Week Awards and the UK Customer Satisfaction Awards.
Aylesford store manager Ian Allcock won Retail Week's 'Store Manager of the Year' award for leading his team's monumental effort in re-opening the store, on year after an arson attack.
"We've come from fire and twisted metal to store that's one of the top-trading stores in the business delivering brilliant service," said Ian. "The whole leadership team and colleagues have worked so hard to get the store to where it is, and this is confirmation that what we've done is really good."
Meanwhile, our online 'Create The Look' tool that allows customers to design their perfect room with paint, wallpaper, flooring and tiling won the 'Best Application of Technology' award. This award recognises Homebase's success at applying technology to improve customer service.
Reacting to both awards, Retail and Distribution Director Ian Jones said: "I am delighted that our new-format Aylesford store has so deservedly been recognised as being led by one of Britain's top managers, this is a well deserved accolade for Ian and his team.
"The 'Best Application of Technology' award recognises the hard work and effort by all the teams involved in the creation of this great tool for our customers; headed by our Customer Services Project Manager, Ian Towse.
"This is a really fantastic achievement, and a big thank you to everyone involved."
