Eurocell Awarded Manufacturer Of The Year
Eurocell is celebrating after being awarded the Manufacturer of the Year title at the prestigious Building Awards 2012, held at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel.
Eurocell, which is part of the Tessenderlo Group, was selected from a shortlist of six companies nationally, and was the only PVC-U systems company in the category.
The Building Awards judging panel comprises of world-leading construction professionals and industry leaders who select the winning companies based on a thorough assessment of their strategic direction and financial performance over the past 12 months.
Eurocell was selected at the star-studded ceremony because of its commitment to sustainable manufacturing leadership in the windows and doors sector.
This long-term strategic focus by Eurocell has already resulted in a £3m investment in enlarging its post-consumer PVC-U recycling operation, which is now the largest facility of its kind in the UK.
The Derbyshire-based plant has the capacity to process up to 12,000 end-of-life PVC-U frames per week and Eurocell uses the material to make new, energy efficient window products.
All Eurocell post-consumer recycling and subsequent manufacture of new products is completed in the same geographic area, which means the company can proudly state that its products are 'Made and recycled in Derbyshire'.
The judges acknowledged the financial performance of Eurocell too, including over 10 years’ consecutive growth and ongoing investment in its 125-plus branch network.
Eurocell branches provide an invaluable service to the building industry by offering local availability of over 4,000 quality building plastics products. Many of these are manufactured by the company in Derbyshire.
In terms of product development, the new Aspect panoramic door system was highly commended by the judges, who recognised its innovative design and impressive sales growth since it was launched in mid-2011.
The Building Awards is the leading Construction industry event of its type and showcases the most innovative products and projects created during the past twelve months.
