Heavy plant hire specialist, GCE Hire Fleet Ltd returns to Finning using Cat Finance to invest in five new pieces of Caterpillar equipment, including four 950H wheel loaders and two D6T track type tractors.
GCE Hire Fleet Ltd with the support of Cat Finance & Finning invested in four new Cat 950H wheel loaders, one D6T LGP track-type tractor & one D6T LGP VPAT blade (GPS Accugrade ready) adding to its already extensive fleet of plant machinery. With a diverse fleet including excavators, wheel loaders, tracked loaders, dozers articulated dump trucks the new additions will add to its comprehensive portfolio.
Company Director for GCE Hire Fleet Ltd, William Boardman said: "When we look at fleet renewal, we go through a whole assessment program, including equipment performance, financing and overall lifetime running costs. Working with Finning we were able to obtain Cat Finance for the purchase of the equipment, which is ideal for the heavy plant hire market.
"From a hire perspective, the four Cat 950H mid size loaders have fantastic utilisation as they’re not too big for small sites and are not too small for a big job. The Cat D6T tractor meanwhile is a versatile machine and is productive in a variety of applications from dozing to grading. With the equipment being of such an adaptable nature they are ideal for our company as we supply to a broad range of customers and jobs.
"Not only are the machines reliable and highly productive they also have many other plus points on their side, such as good operator comfort and ease of operation. More importantly they have excellent fuel economy, something that is increasingly important in the current market.
"One of the key reasons we came back to Finning and Caterpillar equipment was the whole package of services from Cat Finance to the availability of back up parts and crucially the service backup from Finning that is critical. From a business perspective although things are looking up times are still very hard and we cannot afford to have a machine out of action for too long because you can’t get the parts you need for it right away.
"All plant manufacturers are trying very hard to push their products out into the marketplace, but Finning representative Dave Coney demonstrated the added value that the Cat product and Finning service packages offered us, thus putting Finning and Caterpillar a cut above the rest.
"From the other side of our business that is focused on trading in used equipment, the residual values of our assets are a key aspect of our decision to invest in an item of plant equipment. As Caterpillar machinery generally retains a high residual value when it comes to selling it on, it was the right choice for the business."
Regional Salesperson for Finning, Dave Coney commented: "It is very rewarding for us here at Finning to see a consumer return their business to us after experiencing what our competitors have to offer in the same field. Without a doubt this is a strong testament to Caterpillar equipment’s quality and performance.
"In addition to the impression that the machinery has made on GCE Hire Fleet Ltd, they were also very impressed with the level of servicing that the plant equipment receives. Having had a previous relationship with the customer, we were able to supply them with the equipment and service agreement that suits them.
"Now that we have rekindled a successful working relationship with GCE Hire Fleet Ltd, we hope that we can maintain it and advise them on the options that Finning and Caterpillar can offer them in the future."
