First Choice Homes Oldham Appoints Lovell
Lovell has been appointed by First Choice Homes Oldham (FCHO) to help deliver the second phase of the housing association’s £149 million home improvements programme.
Lovell, one of a number of contractors working on the programme, has been awarded a £5.47 million contract to carry out improvement work for homes in West Oldham over the next 12 months. The company will install 775 new kitchens and 529 new bathrooms through the FCHO scheme, as well as carrying out electrical tests at 1,157 homes and installing 173 new central heating systems.
The contract was awarded to Lovell, which has a strong track record in housing refurbishment, following a competitive tendering process. Lovell’s specialist resident liaison team will work closely with residents throughout the improvement work.
Lovell will offer a number of apprenticeships giving local people the chance to gain construction qualifications working on the home improvement scheme. Lovell regional director Nigel Yates said: "We are delighted to be using our expertise in housing refurbishment to work with residents and First Choice Homes Oldham to help deliver the second phase of this important housing improvement programme. In addition to transforming homes, we are committed to creating a lasting legacy through the creation of local job and training opportunities and by offering help and support for community organisations and groups locally."
