London Cabbies Moving Swiftly Again Thanks To Ultrascape
The renowned Ultrascape BS 7533 compliant mortar paving system has been used on the new Crossrail Taxi Rank at Paddington station.
The project encompassed both landscape work to interior and exterior areas, and involved laying over 3000 square metres of granite setts.
The granite was bedded using Ultrascape Pro-Bed HS; slurry primer Pro-Prime was used in addition to provide an exceptional bond, and finally Flowpoint was applied to grout all joints.
The Szerelmey team worked through the night to complete the project. The Ultrascape mortar paving system assisted the project’s successful completion due to the products’ fast setting properties, even in low temperatures.
Ultrascape Pro-Bed HS, Pro-Prime and Flowpoint are proven to be BS 7533 compliant under UKAS testing methods. This British Standard promotes professional results that can give a minimum construction life of 40 years. Choosing to use the system provides reassurance of a project's sound future, even in highly trafficked areas.
All Ultrascape materials are manufactured in the UK under the exacting requirements of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001. All customers are supported with technical advice and worked closely with at specification stage. The premium products have been chosen by many specialists for an ever-expanding portfolio of major schemes across the country, similar to Paddington station.
The rank has opened recently and a taxi driver said the improvements have cut their waiting time by well over half.
