Instarmac, home to the Ultracrete, Ultrascape, Ultra Tile and Ultra Floor brands, has been officially named a ‘Great Place to Work!’
A great work place is an environment where companies ‘achieve organisational objectives with employees who give their personal best and work together as a team or family, all in an environment of trust.’ (Great Place to Work®)
Instarmac were one of just 75 organisations in the UK to be recognised by the Great Place to Work Institute out of hundreds of entrants. Companies were categorised into large, medium and small according to the number of employees in their workforce. Instarmac ranked 16th out of the 25 listed in its category for medium sized companies, alongside other well know organisations such as Danone Ltd, TotalJobs Group Ltd and Twinings UK & Ireland.
The Great Place to Work® Institute recognises those companies who have demonstrated the following requirements:
• Employees trust their management
• Employees take pride in what they do
• Employees enjoy working with their colleagues
This is evaluated through two surveys; The Trust Index® Employee Survey, which is completed in confidence and anonymously by the organisation’s employees, where employees are asked if they agree or disagree with a number of statements. A second questionnaire, The Culture Audit®, is completed by managers, which examines how managers create trust in the workplace through various policies, practises and initiatives. The results from these two assessments determine whether or not the company is a great place to work!
Instarmac’s HR Manager, Niccei Castanheira comments: “As this was our first year of entering we are delighted to be ranked in 16th place, a great achievement for all. We will continue to work hard to ensure that Instarmac remains a successful, happy and great place to be.”
The Great Place to Work® Institute has been evaluating organisations worldwide for the past 25 years. Each year over 5,500 companies are assessed representing over 10 million employees. The institute knows what the best organisations do to create a positive and successful working environment and how important this is to aiding a business’s success.
