Lovell has been chosen by Wellingborough Homes to fulfil a £2 million contract to complete the external refurbishment of nine low rise blocks of flats and fire precaution works to a further 111 blocks.
Refurbishment and repairs will be undertaken to the external fabric of the nine blocks, together with improvement works to the internal communal areas. The external works will involve extensive re-modelling and landscaping works. All blocks will receive upgrades to ensure they have the necessary fire precaution attributes in place.
David Gough, regional director for Lovell in the Midlands, said: "We've enjoyed an excellent working relationship with Wellingborough Homes over the past few years and look forward to continuing that. As always, we will complete this important work to the very highest standards and ensure that disruption to residents is kept to a minimum. This project will improve the quality of life for many residents in the Wellingborough area."
Ray Whittaker, head of property services at Wellingborough Homes, said: "This programme will improve the quality of accommodation, and quality of life, for our residents across the borough. The internal re-modelling will provide homes better suited to modern lifestyles, while the external landscaping and upgrades will also serve to improve the street scenes in local neighbourhoods. Residents have been closely involved in shaping the improvement programme."
