Stroma Certification Awarded Green Deal Advisor Training Funds
Asset Skills, working with the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC), has appointed Stroma Certification to deliver Green Deal Advisor training as part of the £1 million funded ‘go early’ one-off project to support the training and qualification of Green Deal Advisors.
On the 8th March DECC announced a Green Deal Cash Boost: £3.5M to train Green Deal Advisors and Installers, and £10M to improve the energy efficiency of non-domestic buildings. www.decc.gov.uk/en/content/cms/news/pn12_020/pn12_020.aspx
Stroma Certification is delighted to be awarded the opportunity to fulfil funded training for the South East Region project, which comprises of fifty Domestic Energy Assessors who aim to qualify as domestic Green Deal Advisors, five Non-Domestic Energy Assessors who aim to become non-domestic Green Deal Advisors, and five new Green Deal Advisor entrants within the market.
This funding allocation perfectly complements Stroma’s Green Deal training schedule, starting in June 2012, alongside certification schemes and newly developed Green Deal software modules. Stroma has already seen vast interest in the Green Deal CPD sessions, which have run regionally, and secured numerous bookings for the training. Stroma is processing applicants via the funding route and also providing a 10% discount on the Green Deal Advisor training for Stroma Certified members.
This “go early” project is not the only means of gaining the Green Deal Advisor qualification and there are many high quality-training providers offering the Green Deal Advice course across Great Britain. If you would like to access a list of registered training providers please contact the following Awarding Bodies: ABBE, City & Guilds, EDI and SQA.
Stroma’s experience in developing software is integral to the development of the course. In order to facilitate a Green Deal EPC, software will be required throughout various stages of the Green Deal assessment process. Stroma has enhanced their RSAP software for RdSAP, the approved methodology for conducting property assessments, to integrate the Green Deal Occupancy Assessment (OA) and the calculations required to meet the Energy Company Obligation (ECO) and the Golden Rule. Moreover, this software is developed as an APP for use on mobile devices such as iPads; this enables assessors to conduct the EPC and the OA, together known as the Green Deal Advisory Report (GDAR), during the property assessment, streamlining and automating the lodgement process. To discover more about the various software solutions available and the value added package Stroma offer please visit www.stroma.com/greendeal or contact the dedicated Green Deal team.
Green Deal Advisors and Installers must be employed or sub-contracted by a Green Deal Advice Service (GDAS) company, prior to any customer instruction. The GDAS organisation is required to demonstrate that they are able to operate to a new industry standard. Stroma Certification delivers a one-day awareness session for companies interested in becoming a GDAS.
Stroma welcomes all enquiries in relation to Green Deal training, certification and software and continually updates the website www/stroma.com/greendeal with new information. Our dedicated Green Deal team is available to guide applicants through the training process and can be contacted on 0845 621 11 11 or via training@stroma.com.
