New-style INSTA-STIK To Revolutionise Fixing Of Roof Insulation
Industry veteran INSTA-STIKTM Professional Roofing Adhesive has been launched in a new 750ml size to meet rising demand on small commercial and residential projects and help roofers cut costs.
The new, highly portable adhesive pack – manufactured by Dow Building Solutions and distributed by InStar UK – will be available alongside the existing INSTA-STIK Professional Roofing Adhesive 13.5kg (10.4 litres) kit.
“This new handy size INSTA-STIK is set to revolutionize the fixing of roof insulation boards in terms of cost per square metre and speed of application compared to the larger pack, resulting in a win-win situation for roofer and roof owner alike,” said InStar MD, Nick Mills. “In these times of rising prices, it’s not often these days that contractors hear such good news!”
750ml INSTA-STIK Roofing Adhesive is applied with a long-barrelled, re-useable gun which provides easy, quick yet controlled application. With enough adhesive in one can to adhere 13m2 of insulation board, the product is ideal for smaller flat roofing projects.
“The new 750ml pack is ideal for roofers upgrading insulation when replacing waterproofing membranes in order to stay in line with the latest Part L building regulations,” continued Nick. “It still has the technical advantages they’ve come to rely on but offers more flexibility in terms of the amount of product they require.”
INSTA-STIK Roofing Adhesive is dispensed as foam which ‘cures’ within 20 to 30 minutes. There’s no need to use a primer, and there are no fumes, noise, dust or vibration during use.
The product is compatible with a range of insulation boards including extruded and expanded polystyrene, glass fibre tissue faced polyurethane and polyisocyanuarate, mineral and glass fibre, cellular glass, cork and wood fibre. It works with substrates including oriented strand boards, bituminous vapour control layers, proprietary vapour barriers and existing bituminous built-up roofing, mastic asphalt, concrete decks, galvanized metal decks and plywood.
