UK Launch For New Generation XPS Roof Insulation XENERGY SL Offers Better Performance
Dow Building Solutions – the inventor of STYROFOAM insulation – has launched XENERGY SL, a new generation extruded polystyrene (XPS) for insulation of inverted flat roofs.
XENERGY XPS combines the proven features of STYROFOAM XPS - durability, reliability and strength – but has even better insulation performance thanks to the addition of infra-red blocking particles to scatter and reflect heat radiation within the foam board.
Now, roof designers and contractors are the first to be offered XENERGY SL designed for inverted roof insulation, an extension to Dow’s already popular ROOFMATE SL-A product range.
XENERGY SL, which comes in steel grey, is available in single extruded thicknesses of 100, 120, 140 and 160mm. 4mW thermal conductivity gains are possible at 140mm and 160mm thicknesses, an 11% improved insulation performance compared with ROOFMATE SL-A.
“We have a long track record of innovation within the construction industry, and we’re proud to introduce XENERGY SL as our latest technical advance,” said Richard Powell, Roofing Manager for Dow Building Solutions. “As we make further improvements to the thermal conductivity of our products building designers have even more potential to reduce the thicknesses required, which is key in roofing applications.
“The great thing about XENERGY is that it delivers those improvements without compromising on the key attributes of XPS such as high compressive strength, low water absorption and excellent freeze/thaw performance.”
XENERGY XPS is blown with CO2, giving it a Global Warming Potential (GWP) of less than five. Its launch comes hot on the heels of recent thermal conductivity gains across the entire STYROFOAM-A range.
STYROFOAM-A products are also CO2-blown and offer durability, lightweight yet robust performance, high strength and excellent moisture resistance, making them ideal for below-ground and inverted roof insulation demands, or for areas where structural support is required.
Further product information can be found at www.dowxenergy.co.uk or for more details contact Dow Building Solutions by email on xenergyuk@dow.com and one of the account managers will be in touch.
