R W Simon has recently supplied it's lightweight "C" blade solar shading system to a new student accommodation block at Plymouth University.
The 123 en-suite bedrooms "Lozenge" project is a light-weight timber structure which has achieved a BREAAM, very good rating.
The solar shading located on the south and east elevations were designed by R W Simon and installed by Commercial Concepts.
Our design team worked with the main contractor and architect to overcome the problematic issue of installing a solar shading system to a timber / rendered structure.
We provided wind loads and construction details for approval by the project team.
