Wates Considers GHA Tenants
Wates Living Space has been awarded two consecutive Considerate Constructor Scheme 'Beyond Compliance' Awards.
The company received a 36.5 for Kingsway and 37 for Lincoln Avenue multi storey cladding contracts in Glasgow. Both projects have involved overcladding, window and roof replacement to multi storey housing blocks for Glasgow Housing Association (GHA). These projects form part of the ongoing framework Wates are working in partnership with GHA since 2006 to meet the Scottish Housing Quality Standard.
The Considerate Constructors Scheme awards recognise construction teams displaying excellent standards of consideration towards their neighbours, their workforce and the environment.
Comments in the report included "Exceptional high-levels of consideration are displayed on this well-managed site. The strong performance recorded across all areas relevant to the CCS Code, coupled with numerous innovations underlines the site's dedication ‘to go that extra mile’ and challenge best industry practice where possible."
Wates are currently on site delivering five multi storey flatted blocks for Glasgow Housing Association as part of a seven year framework.
Tenants have remained in the blocks while the work is being carried out and several references were made in the report regarding the high level of liaison work undertaken and general consideration to the tenants.
