In 2010 Whitkirk Lawn Tennis Club in North Leeds contacted Playrite in regards to selecting an artificial surface to be laid on top of their existing painted tarmac courts. They also contacted two other companies who all individually met with a small committee of the clubs members to offer advice on what would be the most suitable surfaces for their tennis club. They decided that Playrite's Matchplay 2 would be the ideal surfaces for their club and Dales Sports Surfaces were selected to install the new courts.
Matchplay 2 is one of the five dedicated tennis surfaces that Playrite manufacture, classified to the ITF category 2, medium slow pace rating providing good grip, durability and comfort underfoot. Available in Playrite green, sporting green, blue and terracotta, Whitkirk Club selected a Sporting green playing area with terracotta surrounds for their new courts.
Derek Malthouse at Whitkirk Lawn Tennis Club explains how: "We have had our new courts now for nearly 12 months and we are delighted with them. Mark Waite from Playrite gave us a very good presentation and answered all our questions to our satisfaction. We knew that Playrite had installed carpet courts at Roundhay TC and that they were very satisfied. Mark was always available to speak to us and gave us samples of the different surfaces."
He continues to describe how: "Delivery was on schedule and the carpet was fitted and sanded during a dry week in April 2011. Any concerns we had were dealt with very promptly by Dales Sports Surfaces and I would be very happy to recommend Playrite and Dales to any other tennis club."
