Wombell based hoarding supplier hoard-it take prime position as Barnsley Council prepares to revamp the frontage of Barnsley Town Hall.
As preparations begin for the overhaul, the innovative hoard-it system has been installed to protect the public from ongoing works and to keep the site secure. The overall works will see car parks removed and replaced with community artwork, gardens and the installation of a fountain.
Eliminating the need to dig foundations, the on ground hoard-it system met the Council’s need for a system which was easy to manoeuvre and reposition as work continues. Supplied pre-painted in their corporate red, the horizontal hoarding boards create a colourful and neat site perimeter outside the historic Town Hall.
The system also met the Council's green credentials, the biggest advantage being that once the system is no longer required it will be dismantled, refurbished, and then the entire system will be ready to reuse on another site.
Operations Director, Stewart Quinn said: "As a local company we were able to provide many benefits to Barnsley Council. Not least the reduced impact the system will have on the environment in the form of a very low carbon footprint. The project has enabled us to showcase our system and capabilities at a very prominent landmark and we are pleased to be part of such a high profile local project. We look forward to a continued working relationship with the Council."
The Garden's revamp is part of an overall redevelopment scheme of Barnsley Town Centre which will see new homes and student accommodation which the Council aim to have built by 2026.
