The head teacher at an east Hull school set to reopen in January after a £26 million redevelopment is encouraging more students to enrol.
Andrew Marvell College, in Barham Road, will begin 2013 in the new multi-million pound development created as part of the Building Schools for the Future (BSF) Programme.
The new site is currently being finished next to the existing Andrew Marvell College and will increase the number of pupil places to 1,300.
Kevin Lister, head teacher at Andrew Marvell College, said: "We hope to be able to attract more students through the doors of the school.
"When finished and opened the opportunities available to the children from within our catchment area will be second-to-none.
"The BSF scheme has really given us the opportunity to create 21st century learning environments so the children of Hull can get the best opportunities afforded to them - Andrew Marvell College will be integral to that.
"I really would like more pupils to be considering Andrew Marvell College as being the best option for their education. I am very, very excited about what the new building will offer the children of the city."
The new school is being built by Morgan Sindall - part of Hull Esteem Consortium - which has been charged with delivering the £400 million BSF Programme on behalf of Hull City Council.
The new project includes a theatre space, drama and dance studios, fitness suites, sports hall and a flood-lit all weather pitch.
Additional community facilities, such as space for family centred services and a business conference zone, are all part of the build.
Already, four multi-million pound secondary school investments - Archbishop Sentamu Academy, Sirius Academy, Kelvin Hall and Winifred Holtby - have opened after the £400 million investment in the city through the BSF programme.
