Dickie Bird then signed the cricket bat, which was auctioned at the event in aid of his charitable foundation that helps young people participate in sport.
Dickie Bird said: "I am bowled over by what Coast & Country is doing in Filey. As a proud Yorkshire man, it is great to see that Coast & Country is building first-class homes to meet the housing needs of local people. It is important for an individual’s sense of security, stability and wellbeing to have a high quality roof over their heads. Mill Meadows is in a lovely setting and will provide a good standard of living for people of all ages."
