Opus Energy Marks The Sunday Times Top Track Listing
Independent energy supplier to UK businesses, Northampton and Oxford-based Opus Energy, has today announced the creation of 100 new jobs as it celebrates making The Sunday Times Top Track 250 league table for the second year running.
Published on 14th October, the Top Track 250 league table ranks Britain's leading mid-market private companies with the biggest sales. This year Opus Energy ranked 129 in the prestigious table, a jump of 57 places from last year with thanks to continuing growth, with revenue for 2011/2012 increasing by 38%.
To meet the rapid rate of growth Opus Energy has created 100 jobs over the past year. The company now employs 450 staff across its Northampton and Oxford sites. Opus Energy plans to create another 100 positions over the next year.
Integral to its recruitment strategy was the launch of an apprenticeship scheme earlier in the year. The scheme offers talented individuals the chance to complete an NVQ, with starting salaries of more than double those of usual apprenticeship rates. Nine apprenticeships have been awarded at Opus Energy since the scheme was launched in February, and a further ten will be awarded next year.
Charlie Crossley Cooke, Managing Director, Opus Energy, comments: "This year is particularly exciting for Opus Energy as we celebrate our 10th anniversary. We are extremely pleased to mark this milestone with recognition of our outstanding performance as a business over the last year. We look forward to another year of growth and the creation of new jobs to meet our continuing expansion."
Opus Energy is working with local recruitment agencies and is also encouraging people with a customer focus to visit the company website at www.opusenergy.com for more information.
