ISG Awarded £4.3m Contract
ISG has been awarded a £4.3 million contract to transform an iconic piece of film industry history into exclusive London apartments.
Once the home of Paramount Studios' London headquarters, Paramount House, in London’s Soho conservation area, is a six-storey building latterly used as commercial office space. ISG is set to create 15 high specification residential apartments, including a luxury penthouse suite, for specialist luxury residential developer Amazon Properties.
Following a recent strip out of the property, the building is now vacant apart from two retail units on the ground floor, which will remain occupied and fully operational throughout the 40-week refurbishment programme. The design & build project will see ISG create a new entrance lobby for the apartments on the ground floor with access via Hollen Street.
Storeys one to four of the building will each be converted into three apartments, with two apartments on the fifth floor and the penthouse occupying the entire sixth storey floor plate. The scheme has been designed to maximise the appeal of its central West End location, with a number of the apartments benefiting from a terraced area offering panoramic views of the London skyline.
The Penthouse apartment has its own private roof terrace accessed by a sliding rooflight and a feature glass staircase. The bespoke kitchens, bathrooms and joinery items have all been designed by Amazon’s in-house team, while the heating will be provided by a combination of Victorian-style radiators and electric under-floor heating. Each apartment will be fitted out to an extremely high standard, with solid oak wooden floors and carpet insets.
In addition to the interior fit out of the apartments, ISG will be tasked with replacing windows throughout the building, as well as forming new dormer units within the property's distinctive mansard roof.
