College Interior Evolves With Pendock Column Casings

Pendock column casings have contributed to the striking interior of Dudley Evolve, the new vocational training centre of Dudley College which was opened in September 2012 by Government Business Secretary Vince Cable.

In keeping with its location in Dudley's conservation area, project architect Pick Everard, have blended modern elements with traditional buildings, also incorporating the facade of a former fire station. Evolve houses a wide range of vocational learning facilities, a community leisure centre, dance studios and a theatre.

Pendock preformed plywood column casings offered an imaginative and practical solution for enclosing the structural elements within the building. The main contractor, ISG, specified 30 Circular Column Casings in a Natural Finish which were installed around the perimeter of the atrium and on the main corridors on three floors. For this project, the column casings were painted on site to match the interior scheme, however pre-finished enclosures are also available for projects where speed of installation on site is a major consideration.

Pendock Preformed Plywood Column Casings offer designers and installers a ready-made, pre-finished solution for covering structural columns and housing building services. Pendock casings are straight forward to install, offering consistency in quality of finish and appearance time after time. The casings are available in circular, square and rectangular shapes with a wide variety sizes and finishes enabling designers to create individual styles to suit any building interior. Pendock can also manufacture bespoke products.
