Get Creative With Curved Tiles
Cutting ceramic tiles is a relatively straight forward task, providing you're cutting straight lines. But one thing which has always proved tricky is cutting curves in a material which would much rather be cut straight. It requires careful and painstaking snipping with pincers and the chances of the tile splitting the wrong way is highly likely. But thanks to the fantastic new tile cutter called the Combi Slalom from Montolit, curved cuts are simple, fast and easy.
This unique cutter is not just for cutting tiles to fit flush around a pedestal or curved shower tray, as it also allows for creative tiling where curves, waves and weaves can be incorporated into your design. Perhaps a gently curved 'shoreline' effect cut into your bathroom floor tiles or voluptuous cloud shapes cut into the wall tiles. Wave bye-bye to the boring old grid pattern and say hello to creative curves.
Being able to cut perfect curves over and over again means you can let your creative juices flow. Incorporating different colours, tones and types of tile can add some fantastic effects to your home and your designs can be as stark or as subtle as you like. The manufacturers' also supply a handy curve calculator, a variable template which makes transferring your designs from paper to the cutter is as easy as using the cutter itself.
Designs using the Combi Slalom can be a simple or complicated as you want as this tool makes cutting tight curves as simple as cutting long gentle arcs. Almost any design can be incorporated into a tiles wall or floor at BuyTiles. Curves can be transferred directly from a wall, shower tray or bath tub to ensure your tiles will perfectly fit, taking the headache out of fitting ceramic, porcelain, glass or natural stone tiles around anything other than a straight edge.
