EDF Energy Signs Agreement With GSE Systems
EDF Energy has agreed a new collaboration with simulation technology leader GSE Systems.
The agreement will see GSE Systems showcase state-of-the-art technology in EDF Energy’s new flagship training facility at Cannington Court in the south west of England, as well as across the UK.
Alongside the latest in nuclear power station simulation – designed to train and prepare the people who run the company's eight nuclear power stations across the UK – GSE Systems will also supply their Activ3Di™ visualization 3D technology to recreate plant environments and deliver virtual reality training on specific maintenance scenarios.
Cannington Court, a 900-year old building located in rural Somerset, is set to become the heart of EDF Energy's campus network and this injection of twenty-first-century technology is key to the development. The EDF Energy Campus programme will link the company’s training facilities across the UK, enabling employees, universities and industry experts to come together to learn, share ideas and develop the skills required for the future.
David Drury, Campus Chancellor at EDF Energy, said: "The value of this partnership is the capability to develop ‘learning by doing’ experiences enabling employees to grow and learn new skills in all areas of the electricity generation and supply business. Enabling GSE Systems to showcase their latest simulation technology at our new Cannington Court development is truly inspiring as it demonstrates our commitment to being at the forefront of using the latest learning technologies."
