Chauncey's Completes Docklands Museum Project
Chauncey's has announced it has completed a project at the Docklands Museum.
Located on West India Docks, and opened in the May 2003, this fine old building which was formally a sugar cane refinery during Victorian times. It was converted to create a new Docklands Museum charting the history of the area.
Old wide Pitch Pine flooring was used throughout. In some gallery areas the original boards were beyond repair and the whole floors relaid with reclaimed Pitch Pine boarding from Chauncey's. The timber for the replacement boards was sawn from roof trusses reclaimed from a large old mill in Devon.
