Complex Rooflines Easi For Edge Protection Experts
As Edge Hill University in Ormskirk, Lancashire continues to expand, easi-edge has been chosen to supply edge protection to the scheme and to keep site operatives safe whilst working at height.
Engaged by structural steelwork contractors Henry Smith, the edge protection experts have worked closely with the project team to provide a practical solution to complex roof lines within the building design.
As a new customer the easi-edge technical team demonstrated their skill and expertise as they set out to interrogate architectural drawings and liaise with the appointed roofing contractor to provide the right edge protection solution for the project.
Challenging roof angles, interlocking with flat roofs and incoming roofs, meant three different fixing solutions were identified to keep the workforce safe whist working at roof level.
Technical Manager Duncan Wells commented on the project “Our team enjoy a challenge and this project was no exception. As a result we have developed a good working relationship with Henry Smith to find the right solutions for this complex project.
Our team have taken away the stresses sometimes associated with edge protection by providing a complete service from detailing, indexing, delivery and on-site support during the installation of the edge protection. We look forward to working with Henry Smith again on future projects.”
The multi-million pound media centre, to be known locally as the Creative Edge building is part of a scheme to modernise the 160-acre campus and will provide a new home for the university’s media and computing departments. The Creative Edge building is due to be completed later this year.
